She is the First

with the nights big event about to happen. many critics were being paying a lot of attention to the big money maker movie Avatar to take home the shows best awards. But with the little money making movie Hurt locker beating the big gunned movie out.Kathryn Bigelow was the director and just so happens to be the first women director to win the award for best director. James Cameron was up in the running for the award as well but just feel short. To make things even sweeter Kathryn Bigelow was previously married to James Cameron.

Tsunami Doesnt Show

After the devastating earthquake hit in Chile, scientist believed that it would spark a tsunami to hit the island of Hawaii. Tourist and residents were seen on high grounds waiting on the tsunami to hit. they all had their cameras out ready to take pictures. Hotel tourists received notes describing what to do it the tsunami does hit the island. a few tourist were interviewed and were saying how calm everyone on the island was. There was any panicking going on. After the wait of the tsunami it never came.

Best Dinner Ever

Throughout my time in life i have had many great meals. Some stick out the most in my head the most because of what it was. the one that stands out the most would have to be my T bone steak dinner while i was out deer hunting last season. every meal out next to a campfire seems just a little more delightful than the last. all the meals are as close to a thanksgiving dinners out there. but this one in particular has every thanksgiving dinner beat. this dinner consisted of a 2 inch thick 3 pound T bone steak. that was so big it needed a plate just for itself. the steak was cook medium well just how i like it. just a little bit of pink meat on the inside. The marinade got the steak so juicy you were able to cut it with you fork. For the sides, i had a footlong corn on the cob that was soaking in butter. also i had a giant baked potato filled with sour cream,butter, bacon slices, and cheddar cheese. and with topping this dinner off you had a tall glass of ice cold sweet tea. after a hard days work there is nothing like eating a great meal before heading off to bed.

Where Are The Hecklers?

Have you ever seen a collegiate athletic game and not seen any trash talk? I never have. I think its apart of the game. Now i understand its has its extent to not morally insult anyone but what's wrong with "booing" ? Here at East Central basketball games this is the time for the student section to have some fun. Get to mock the other teams players and chant song's about how they aren't any good. I want to see the students chanting things that makes the other players get mad and throws them off their game. These are collegiate athletes, they are old enough to take some fair share of criticism. I enjoy seeing students getting wild and having fun in the crowd. Don't get me wrong, there are a small handful of what i like to call " true fans " that do their part of heckling. From my point of view everyone else likes these young men who lead the chants. We should all want to join in and do just a small part. Making it difficult to come into our complex and preform well is the ultimate goal of the student section. So in the near future i would like to be able to sit back and witness here at ECU the true form of being a collegiate student and athlete with more fan spirit.

Future Faces

ECU had a great recruiting class. The football team will begin next season with 37 new faces. The new additions to the team will greatly help the upcoming season. Many of these new faces are mid season transfers from a previous junior colleges. After coming off a disappointing losing season the team has been working extremely hard during their off season workouts to get bigger and better. For insistence, you may see a few of the football players walk around campus with a shiny gold belt. This belt represents that that individual has been working very hard and is being recognized for it. Good luck with the rest of the off season and the upcoming football season.
